SUPERPRO at Baer Field - May 30, 2009

Postby PB on Tue May 26, 2009 7:15 pm

Baer Field - "Aluminum Racing Products 75"

Gates open - 2:00 (possibly earlier)
Tech starts - @2:00 or asap
Practice all classes - 3:00
Qualifying all classes - 5:00
Racing starts at 7:30

MANDATORY Drivers and Spotters meetings will be announced.

NO TRANSPONDERS

When presenting car for pre-practice inspection, remove hoods, air cleaner, and air box. Leave those items in your pit. Bring a cover for your carb. Have safety equipment available, including helmet, firesuit, shoes, gloves, and head/neck restraints.

TWO TIRE RULE IN EFFECT. (Four tires may be purchased by teams that did not compete at Angola.) If you have new tires left over from Angola, you must race those tires, and the two new tires you purchase Saturday. This will be the last race you can race four new tires. Tires will be marked after first practice session and must be used in second practice session, qualifying, and racing events.

Draw for qualifying position will take place when tires are marked.

Be prepared for scaling at a moments notice. Due to the "traffic jam" created after scaling last week,(mostly my fault) we will institute a new procedure for coming to the scales for qualifying. This week, we will call you up in your qualifying order in groups of five. Once you cross the scales, fall directly into line in the chute. Failure to be scaled with your group will result in being place at the end of the line and receiving only 1 lap.

Cars not meeting minimum weight or maximum left side percentage will return to their pit for adjustments. PENALTY - GOING TO THE END OF THE LINE AND LOSING 1 LAP. You MUST re-scale before proceeding. After crossing the scales, NO ADJUSTMENTS except for air pressures may be made.

75 laps, same rules as always. Top five stop on frontstretch for "Winners Circle" ceremonies. You will be directed to tech inspection from there. Do not go to your pit, only 3 crew member (including driver) allowed with car. All others must be at least 15 feet from cars.

Main Points to Remember:

* Gates open at 2:00 (if not earlier)
* Leave hoods, air cleaner, and air box in you pit.
* Two practice sessions only.
* Two tire rule goes into effect this weekend. After this week, no more four new tires allowed.
* Tires marked after first practice session. Have them ready to be marked ASAP.
* Mandatory drivers and spotters meetings will be announced.
* You will be called up to scales in groups of five for pre-qualifying weighing.
* Failure to meet minimum and maximum qualifying weights and percentages will result in loss of 1 lap. Failure to meet race weights and percentages will result in starting on the tail.
* 75 laps. First 40, yellows count. Last 35, green flag only count.
* Top five stop on frontstretch for "Winners Circle" ceremonies.

There is a special one way traffic pattern in the pits. Please make note of them. We will explain if not sure.

Last week, (other than my screw up of lining you up after you scaled) I thought everything went very well. All of you are to be commended on being prompt to tech, to the scales, and giving the fans a good race. THANK YOU!

Our experiences at Baer Field have been good. Let's not spoil our "record" I want to thank all of you in advance for coming. We look forward to another safe, competitive, and fun day/night.
