Edgerton, Ohio veteran Jack Landis took the lead from Kevin Todd on lap 42 and went on to win the "Dietsch Sales and Service 75 Presented by Randercar Racing Enterprises" SUPERPRO Series feature event Saturday night at Angola Motor Speedway.
Rookie Zion Schaub and 2005 champion Rob Buckley brought the field to the green with Buckley jumping into the early lead. Buckley led till lap 20 when a flat tire slowed him and allowed Todd to take the point. At lap 25, Todd led Al Cook Jr., Landis, Tommy Cook and fast qualifier Jason Dietsch.
Landis moved into second on lap 29 and grabbed the lead from Todd on lap 41. Dietsch moved into second in lap 47 and moved on Landis' rear bumper for the remaining 28 laps of the race. A lap 53 caution involving Matt Hall and Greg Nienhouse brought the field together but Landis was able to hold off Dietsch to the checker. Todd finished third followed by Derek Bischak and Al Cook Jr. Mike Kugler was sixth and Tommy Cook, Rick Everidge, Colin Toland and Schaub rounded out the top ten.
Dietsch was the Corrigan Oil - Aluminum Racing Products Fast Qualifier with a lap of 14.32 seconds around the high banked 3/8 th. mile paved oval. Landis and Dietsch split the All Star Performance - Lane Automotive Hard Charger Award and Buckley was the unfortunate recipient of the ARP Hard Luck Award.
The SUPERPRO Series moves to Springport Motor Speedway this Saturday August 30 for the running of the "Lipari Foods 75 Presented by Team Tech Motorsports." Pit gates open at 2 p.m., spectator gates at 5 p.m. and the first race at 7 p.m. For more information, go to the web at www.superproracing.com.
