Tech Line opens @1:30 (Must tech before practicing. Tires will be available.)

Races start at 7:00 (Hot lap session for all cars interested will be announced. It will be squeezed in between heat races for other classes.)

RULE UPDATES: EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

*RACE PROCEEDURE - Beginning with this week’s race at Angola, caution laps will count for the first 25 laps ONLY. The remaining 50 laps, green flag laps ONLY count.

*WEIGHT – Due to the domination of the Ford engines (4 races, 4 wins, 2 seconds), beginning with this week’s race at Angola, new total weights will go into effect.
* ANY rebuilt FORD or any FORD that isn’t part of the new FORD engine package with the approved seals – will remain at 2750 lbs.
* Any NEW FORD engine with the approved seals – will weigh 2700. (At this time, #71b of Terry Bogusz only one affected.)
* ANY GM motor that has the old bolt seals OR has been rebuilt – will weigh 2675.
* Any NEW GM motor with the new seal package - will weigh 2650.

Left side percentages will remain unchanged at 59.0% maximum.

*The above rule updates are subject to change.

When presenting car for tech, have your hood OFF. Air cleaner and air box should be removed and left in your pit. Bring a cover for your carb. Have your safety equipment available; including helmet, firesuits, shoes, gloves, and head / neck restraints. Make sure all safety equipment is within code date. If not present at the first four events, your ignition and carb must be inspected and sealed. If your seal(s) have been removed, your carb and ignition box will have to be re-inspected and sealed.

Two Tire Rule in effect: You are allowed to purchase two tires this week. These tires MUST be run during your final practice, qualifying, and racing events. In addition, you will be using two “used” tires, previously used in a SUPERPRO sanctioned event. After the first practice session, officials will come around to your pit and mark your event tires. The four tires marked will be your set of tires for the remainder of the day. (2nd practice session, qualifying, and race.) You will draw for qualifying order at this time.

A drivers and spotters meeting will be held. These will be announced over the PA. They will be held in the tech barn and are MANDATORY to attend. Spotters meeting will be held immediately after the drivers meeting. It is advised the spotters attend the drivers meeting also. Failure to attend these meetings could result in penalties. Spotters will be located up in turn two, like last time. REMEMBER: THE “TAP OUT” RULE IS IN EFFECT. Man up and be responsible.

When called to the scales for qualifying or the racing event, please be prompt. Come to the scales close to qualifying or line up order. The order is posted or a SLMS Official will be able to advise you as to your position. Know who is in front of you (a couple of spots) and who is behind you. By coming up in order, this will help alleviate the congestion in the scale and staging areas. Once you cross the scales, pull up into the chute in your respective position. Keep a lane open. Do not just pull off the scales and stop.

The feature will be 75 laps. First 25 laps, yellow flag laps count. Last 50 laps, green flag laps only, count. TOP FIVE stop on front stretch after the race for “Winners Circle” ceremonies. Top five will report to post race tech inspection. Do not return to your pit, go directly where instructed (site of initial inspection earlier in the day). Only 3 people (including driver) allowed in post race tech area. Please keep bystanders, fans, and unnecessary crew members at least 15 feet from the cars. BE PREPARED TO REMOVE ONE VALVE COVER. ALSO, be prepared to remove your ignition box, and whatever else officials may want to check.

The transponder rule will be in effect. All transponders MUST be mounted before practicing. They will be tested during your practice sessions to make sure they are working properly. Make sure you turn in your transponder before leaving the premises. FAILURE TO RETURN THE TRANSPONDER COULD HOLD UP YOUR PAY.

In Summary:
* Practice session on Friday from 5 to 8.
* Special hotel rates at Ramada Inn of Angola. (I-69, Exit 154) Just mention SUPERPRO or the track for special rate. ($75.)
* Gates will open at 1:00; tech will start @ 1:30, practice at 3:00. Make sure to allow time for inspection before practice.
* New weights and race procedures take effect this week.
* For technical inspection: have hoods off; air cleaners and air boxes left in your pits.
* Two practice sessions only.
* TWO tire rule in effect. MUST use the two new tires plus two used tires from another event.
* Tires will be marked after first practice session. Make sure you have them ready when the officials come around. Draw for qualifying.
* MANDATORY drivers and spotters meetings will be held. Spotters will be located up in turn two.
* Please come to the scales as close to qualifying order, or line up, as possible. No adjustments may be made after crossing the scales with the exception of air pressures and cleaning the windshield.
* Seventy five laps. Caution laps will count through lap 25. Remaining laps, green flag laps only count. (Final 50)
* Transponder rule in effect. Have them mounted before practicing. Also, remember to return the transponder after the races. Failure to return the transponder could result in failure to receive payment for the event.
* Top 5 on front stretch for “Winners Circle” ceremonies. DO NOT go to your pit, report to the tech area. (Post race Tech area will be at site of initial inspection earlier in the day.) Only 3 crew members (including driver) allowed with car. Please keep all others at least 15 feet from the cars. Plan on removing one valve cover (doesn’t matter which one), ignition box, and be prepared for whatever else the officials require.
