"Engineered Systems 75" - Angola Speedway - 5/24/08

Postby PB on Tue May 20, 2008 9:30 am

Your 2008 SUPERPRO Late Model Series season kicks off this Saturday with the running of the "Engineered Systems 75" at the Angola Motor Speedway.

Gates open at 3:00 (Pit passes - $30.00)
Tech begins at 3:00
Practice starts at 4:00 (You are first. 2 sessions only.)
Qualifying at 6:00 (report to scales when called)
Racing starts at 7:30 (Your feature is first. Scaling will take place during intermission.)

There is a link to the complete schedule of events on Angola's website at www.angolamotorspeedway.com

According to their schedule, there WILL BE AN AUTOGRAPH SESSION.

Since this is the first event of the season, you may purchase six (6) tires, this week only. It is advised to get in line early. Wayne said last year they mounted over 100 tires on opening day.

YOU MUST PASS THROUGH TECH INSPECTION BEFORE YOU WILL BE ALLOWED TO PRACTICE. Practice starts at 4:00, I hope to get everyone checked as soon as possible.

When presenting your car for initial inspection, LEAVE YOUR HOOD IN YOUR PIT. Under no circumstances are you to have your hood on the car when coming to tech. If you come to tech with your hood on the car, you will be taken out of line, sent to your pit to remove the hood, then fall in at the end of the line and loose either the first practice session or 1 lap of qualifying. There should be nothing to hide, so having your hood on will only piss me off.

Make sure you bring ALL of your safety equipment to inspection. I want to see your helmet, sire suit, shoes, gloves, and head/neck restraint systems. All items must meet code.

You will be issued a rev limiter chip during inspection. You will also be issued a transponder. This must be on the car before your first practice session. The chip is to remain in the ignition box for the entire day/night. After the program is over, make sure you return these items before leaving the track. Your name will be checked off a list when you return them. If your name is not checked off at the end of the evening, you will not receive your payout.

Have you air cleaner and air box OFF. I will not wait for you to remove any body work, or nuts/bolts/screws holding things down. If you are not prepared, I will send you to the end of the line and re-tech. (To keep dirt and stuff out of the carb, either have a carb cover or rags to cover it.) Also, be prepared to possibly remove the carb and a valve cover.

There WILL BE drivers and spotters meetings at EVERY EVENT. All drivers MUST attend the drivers meeting, spotters are also encouraged to attend this meeting. The spotters meeting will take place immediately following the drivers meeting. Roll will be taken, and IF your spotter is not present, you will start on the tail. IT IS MANDATORY YOUR SPOTTER ATTENDS! Absolutley NO ONE is excluded from this rule. If you do not have a spotter, come to us before the meeting and we will help you find one. Remember, the spotter, and NOT JUST THE DRIVER, must attend this meeting. Also, during the race, only one spotter per car allowed in "Spotterville".

The Promoter has asked our spotters to spot from the trun two (2) stands, and NOT the back stretch stands near the concession building. An area will be marked off for this purpose.

75 laps. For the first 40 laps, yellow flag laps count. The last 35, only green flag laps count. You will be given 1/2 way, 10 to go, and 5 to go signals. If you have problems during the race and must go to the pits for repairs, you will get three (3) yellow flags when you hit your pit to return to the track. No speeding in the pit, and follow directions of the track officials. You may only change tires that are flat.

After the race, top five (5) finishers are to stop on the main straight for winners circle ceremonies. After the ceremonies, you will be sent to the tech area and instructed from there. (IF you are running in another division (race), you will be allowed to leave early. Only under these conditions will the driver not have to be with the car during inspection. - Jason Dietsch rule)

SPOTTERS - after the race, if your car finishes in the top 5, remain in "Spotterville" and wait for intructions. As soon as I relay them to the Spotter Director, he will give you your instructions, then you will be excused to go to your pit.

Please control you emotions during and immediately following the race. Return to your pit, cool down, then you can go to Bill with your questions or concerns. It will take him a few minutes to get back from the tower, but you should have cooled down by them. DO NOT go into another teams pit and confront them.

Remember, this is YOUR series. Be on your best behavior and put forth a professional image. Your actions and conduct towards fans and track personel will be remembered. It could mean a return show at a future date. The series will only be as good as what you put into it.

Have fun and be safe!
