DIETSCH SNAGS SUPERPRO WIN AT SPARTAN

Edgerton, Ohio veteran Jason Dietsch took the lead with ten laps to go and went on to win the Team Tech Motorsports 75 Presented by Lipari Foods Friday night at Spartan Speedway in Mason, Michigan.
Rookie contenders Mark Hankowsky and Kyle Hayden brought the 19 car field to the green with Hayden jumping to the early lead. The first caution came out on lap 3 when Terry Bogusz and Ryan Inman got together on the front stretch sending both to the pits for repairs. Rick Everidge’s season of bad luck continued as he went out on lap 4 with motor trouble.
Hayden held his advantage until point leader Tom Smith began to challenge on lap 5. Hayden and Smith ran side by side for the next fifteen laps before Smith took over the top spot. At the halfway point, it was Smith, Hayden, Rob Buckley, Dietsch, Andy Marchiniak, Derek Bischak, Hankowsky, and Brian Bauman.
Dietsch moved into third on lap 42 and grabbed second from Hayden on lap 54. On lap 57, he moved inside of Smith and the two drivers battled side by side for the lead for the next eight laps before Dietsch took command. At the checkers, it was Dietsch, Smith, Buckley, Hayden, and Mike Kugler. Marchiniak, Bischak, Hankowsky, Danny Leeck, and Steven Brooks rounded out the top ten.
