Attentiion ALL SUPERPRO drivers and crews

The next two weekends will see the SUPERPRO Late Model Series in action. First on Aug 23, is the "Dietsch Sales and Service 75" at the Angola Speedway under the direction of Wes and Crimson Parrish. Then on Aug 30th, the series invades Jim Leasure's Springport Speedway.

Both races will be 75 laps with the first 40 laps counting, including yellows, and the last 35 laps, green flag laps only counting.

At Angola:

Gates open at 3:00. (I advise getting there earlier, may be able to get in and set up)
Tech will start ASAP
Practice starts at 4:00 (2 sessions. TIRES WILL BE MARKED AFTER FIRST SESSION.)
Qualifying at 6:00
Racing starts at 7:30

At Springport:

Gates open at 2:00
Tech will start ASAP
Practice starts at 4:00 (2 sessions. TIRES WILL BE MARKED AFTER FIRST SESSION.)
Qualifying at 5:30
Racing at 7:00

TWO TIRE RULE. Qualify / race tires will be marked after FIRST practice session.

When presenting your car for initial inspection, have hoods removed, air boxes off, and bring your safety equipment. NO ONE WILL PRACTICE WITHOUT HAVING PASSED THROUGH TECH.

MANDATORY drivers and spotters meetings will be announced. ALL drivers and ALL spotters are required to attend. If absent, penalties may be implemented.

There may be autographs sessions. These will be announced. Make sure you are prepared with cards and candy.

When it is announced to report to the scales, do so in a timely matter. Do not hold up the show.

On a personal note, I will not be attending any of the remaining events on the schedule. Depending on if a banquet is held, I hope to be able to attend that. I'll try and keep you all updated from time to time.

In my absence, Mike Coplean and Greg Cool will be under Bill's direction. Be nice to them, they're meaner than I am, especially Mike.

Some of you, it was great to see again. Some of you were just getting to know me. It was a pleasure working with all of you this year, and I plan to be back next season.

To those of you who have sent along your thoughts of encouragement, thank you. They are greatly appreciated.

Good Luck everyone! and stay safe. I'll miss all of you.

A couple of changes to Saturday at Angola

Postby Bill Lackey on Tue Aug 19, 2008 10:27 am

JUST A COUPLE CHANGES FOR ANGOLA:

ANGOLA TIME LINE:

GATES OPEN AT 3 PM. WE WILL BE READY FOR TECH AT 3.

ONE HOUR PRACTICE FOR SUPERPRO - 4 PM TO 5 PM. WE WILL HAVE THE TRACK FOR 1 HOUR FOR CONTINOUS PRACTICE.

QUALIFYING AT 6 PM.

SUPERPRO AUTOGRAPH SESSION RIGHT AFTER QUALIFYING

RACING AT 7:30.

THERE WILL BE AN OPEN PRACTICE AT ANGOLA ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 22 FROM 5 PM TO 8 PM.

WE WILL BE MARKING TIRES JUST BEFORE QUALIFYING INSTEAD OF AFTER THE FIRST HOT LAT SESSION. BECAUSE OF THE EXTENDED HOT LAP SESSION, THERE WILL BE NO HOT LAPS BEFORE THE RACE. OUR FEATURE WILL BE THE FIRST ONE OF THE EVENING AFTER HEAT RACES AND INTERMISSION.
